An Case Study with an E&I Contract Partner, The Prestwick Companies
The University of Wisconsin-Madison recently upgraded an outdoor space that is frequented by students. This was an underutilized space on campus, but that had a nice rooftop view. This outdoor area of UW's Union South student area is a multi-purpose gathering space for students, faculty, and even the community. UW wanted to make it more comfortable and a better gathering area, and make the outdoor area more flexible.
UW worked with The Prestwick Companies on this upgrade project. The team at The Prestwick Companies designed high-top tables with bench seating, stools, and comfortable deep seating. The tables and chairs were made with natural wood grain that matched the space. Even the cushions had a two-tone color combination that matched the Union South's outdoor aesthetics. Now students use the space to gather in between classes, have meals, and have study groups. This outdoor space is now even used for groups to rent and host events.
The Prestwick Companies also managed UW's campus-wide waste and recycling solutions. It outfitted Camp Randall Stadium with a multi-phased two-stream bin with a recycling stream eventually converting into an organic waste for a true zero waste solution.

Why Higher Education Cooperative Agreements Help Colleges and Universities
Rising inflation, budget cuts, and increasing public scrutiny have placed pressure on higher learning institutions to pursue cost savings. But individual schools can lack the scale and leverage needed to drive down cost from suppliers. Higher education cooperative agreements offer an alternative via pooling resources and facing these challenges. Higher education cooperative agreements in procurement create cost savings, expanded options, improved quality and service, increased efficiency, and have no obligations. Members can view an expansive list of available agreements, compare to current purchasing, and top-in if they choose.
