The University of North Dakota updated its dining service with contemporary cuisine and design. When the University of North Dakota set out to renovate its Wilkerson Dining Center, they looked to TriMark Gill Group to manage the huge task of ordering and installing the kitchen equipment needed to serve over 1,300 students each day. The success of this project shows how college cafeterias can be transformed from an antiquated entity serving bland, unhealthy food, to a modern culinary experience with a variety of freshly prepared foods.
Project Highlights
- $4.25 million foodservice contract that included 700 pieces of kitchen equipment with various production lead times
- Installed $1 million worth of kitchen exhaust hoods, walk-in coolers and cook-chill equipment
- Took charge of the project management, logistical planning, coordinating with manufacturers and installation teams to get specialized equipment installed on a tight timeline
- TriMark completed the project with only one change order for around $3,000, evidence of their managerial expertise
- Part of a high-profile project that received national attention in foodservice equipment and supplies
This was a challenging and large-scale project, and needed completion on a tight timeline so it would be ready for students returning from summer break. TriMark and team put in long days and nights of work to complete the project, but the new kitchen and dining area was a large success.
